Skincare Hacks You’ve Never Thought Of

If you’re as dedicated to your skincare routine as we are, there’s a good chance you’re not making any of thetypical skincare mistakes, you understand the importance ofproper hydration, and perhaps you’ve even experimented withCBD andturmericon your breakouts. But let us ask you this: are you up-to-date on skincare hacks? 

Whether you think you know all there is to know about skincare or not, today we’re going to get into some of our favorite tried-and-true skincare hacks to help you out in your journey to clear skin. 

Are you ready? Next time you’re looking to switch up your skincare, try out some of these skincare hacks: 

  • Switch to a silk pillow case 

  • You put a lot of time and effort into your skincare routine, so why would you let all that hard work go to waste by sleeping on a pillow case that promotes wrinkles? Switch to a silk pillow case for a much gentler option on your skin at night. You’ll both see and feel the difference. 

  • Promote blood flow 

  • One of the easiest ways to bring some color and glow to your face is to attempt an inversion. Now, don’t get too scared here. We’re not going to ask you to stand on your head or attempt any wild yoga poses, but when you have five minutes to spare, spend some time in a downward dog. For most, this position is relatively easy to do, and it effectively promotes blood flow to your face. 

    You can also try any form of exercise when trying to promote blood flow. Or hey, if the idea of exercise doesn’t really appeal, you can always experiment with a jade roller to help promote circulation in your face. Just remember, exercise can also be a key factor in reducing stress levels, and we all know that stress can often lead to breakouts, so even if exercise doesn’t thrill you, it is highly recommend to get some movement into your day when possible.

  • Don’t skip sunscreen. Ever. 

  • We know you’ve already heard about the importance of sunscreen in your skincare routine, but we want to reiterate just how important this step is for preventing dark spots and hyperpigmentation. More specifically, we want to urge you to wear sunscreen even on the cloudiest of days. While it might not seem like the sun’s rays are able to do damage when hidden by the clouds, trust us, as you age, you’ll see the effects of skipping out on sunscreen. Not ideal. 

  • Add healthy fats to your diet 

  • While we’re not suggesting loading up on a ful fat based diet, we do think it’s important to point out how important diet can be on your skin. There are, of course, many vitamins and nutrients that can help promote skin health, but one of the less commonly discussed foods that we suggest adding to your diet is healthy fats, like salmon. Rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, eating salmon weekly can do wonders for your skin. 

  • Massage your face in a steamy shower 

  • You might feel a little silly doing this at first, but as mentioned above, stimulating blood flow in your face is key for achieving that glowy complexion. Add on the benefit of a steamy shower for opening up and clearing our your pores, and we’ve got a feeling this skincare hack might quickly become a daily staple in your routine.
