If you read our article about what you should expect from our organic skincare, then you already know that we’re dedicated to providing natural, organic skincare that’s always cruelty-free.
We’ve made it our mission to ensure that our customers can rest assured that they can maintain their love for natural and organic ingredients without having to sacrifice on quality or effectiveness of their beloved skincare.
Pimples, dry skin, wrinkles? Never at Jolicoeur!
Keep in mind, though, while many of our customers prefer to use natural products beyond just their skincare (i.e. they might use natural cleaning products, or buy organic produce), our brand is for everyone and anyone who is open to incorporating more organic ingredients into their everyday life. Skincare just happens to be a great place to start since what you put into and onto your body is something that everyone should consider when choosing their products and/or food.
Did you know that your skin is considered the largest organ in your body, and because your skin is porous, you’ll absorb whatever you put on it, including any skincare? Trust us, considering the quality of your skincare and what it is made from is of the utmost importance.
Having said all this, while organic and natural ingredients are very important to us, we’re also equally dedicated to ensuring we provide cruelty-free skincare to our valued customers.
Unfortunately, in the beauty industry, testing on animals is an all-too-common occurrence.
Did you know that according to Humane Society International, in the cosmetics industry alone, roughly 100,000 to 200,000 animals die each year because of inhumane and unnecessary animal testing?
While it’s hard to get an exact number on how many animals suffer through these tests, really any number is too high, and that’s why we’ve dedicated ourselves to aligning ourselves as a cruelty-free brand that never tests any of our products on animals.
Instead, because our products are so natural and made with organic ingredients, you can feel confident that you’re not putting any harsh chemicals, toxins, parabens, or sulfates on your skin.
In other words, our skincare is not only safe and effective, but it also doesn’t support any form of animal cruelty.
That brings us to our next point: What is the difference between vegan and cruelty-free skincare, you might be wondering?
To put it simply, cruelty-free references actual animal cruelty (i.e. using animals as test subjects and causing them harm or death), while vegan refers to products that stay away from using any materials that are derived from animals in any way, shape, or form.
For instance, if a skincare brand uses honey in their formula, the product is NOT vegan since honey is directly derived from bees; however, it would likely be considered cruelty-free since no bees were harmed in procuring the honey.
At Jolicoeur, we align ourselves as a cruelty-free brand. We are very much against harming animals. In addition, you’ll likely be pleased to hear that almost all of our products are vegan friendly; however, if you are vegan, please always read labels to ensure that none of the ingredients used are derived from any animal/animal product.
Bottom line: Cruelty-free skincare is very important to us over here at Jolicoeur. We’ve made it our mission to NOT contribute to the harm animals in the beauty industry.
We’ve proven time and time again that testing on animals is not necessary in order to create effective products. We hope that more skincare and beauty brands can follow our lead and help contribute to a world where cruelty to animals becomes a thing of the past.
